My first semester of college I was a dance major. I had spent my childhood training in classical ballet, which sparked my early passion for healthy habits. Then I changed career paths, and decided to foster my love of science. So, I took a break from dance, only to realize that I was neglecting my true calling... Healthy living.
When I stopped exercising, it was a low point in my life. I was not only feeling insecure about my body, I was drained, unmotivated, irritable, and my grades started to suffer. I didn't feel like myself.
I knew I needed a change...
But going to the gym wasn't enough. I didn't feel comfortable in my workout clothes, didn't know what machines to use, and I felt like everyone was staring at me. Going to the gym without any guidance left me feeling more stressed and more insecure, perpetuating all the negative feelings I was already experiencing. I was desperate to feel comfortable in my own skin again.
So I invested in a coach... Which was the best decision I've ever made for myself. I was guided through my workouts, handed a customized meal plan, and held accountable.
After 3 weeks, I lost 10 pounds. And it seemed like everything else in my life started to fall into place. I was energized, more productive and motivated, confident, and I felt strong in my body. I became more present, I was excited to take photos, I was less irritable, and I felt like I could accomplish anything. I learned how to master my mindset and conquer bad habits to make healthy living a long-term reality!
This new lifestyle propelled my passion for coaching and mentoring. Now, years later, I'm committed to helping others get out of their "rut", end their cycle of self-deprecating thoughts, and break their unhealthy habits.
I have learned so much on my health journey, and am a firm believer that we can't make lasting and meaningful change single-handedly.
