How to construct your perfect morning & evening routine!

Sep 12, 2019

Morning routines are E S S E N T I A L to the success of your day. In a world where we can’t control traffic, how long we wait in line, or any of life’s inconveniences, we CAN control how we start our day! If you start your day on a positive and energized note, you’ll be able to carry that energy with you throughout the day.

Now let's say you miss your alarm and thus have a rushed morning… That doesn’t mean the rest of your day has to be crappy. It’s all about perspective and bouncing back; and it's easier to bounce back on the bad days when you have a solid routine developed.

If you start your morning by doing things that make you feel in alignment, it’ll be easier for you to deal with the “inconveniences” of life. Morning routines are essential because it is Y O U R time! It’s your time to do whatever you need to do so that you feel however you want to feel throughout your day. It's your...

How to go out to eat, without going ALL out!

Jun 17, 2019

Do you find that you dread going out to dinner when you're on a new health kick?!

Does it always seems to derail your progress?!

Do you find yourself having to “get back on the wagon” at the start of each week because you over-indulged on the weekend?!

I feel you. Going to restaurants has a way of derailing progress for so many people...

Here are some tips I’ve picked up over time to enjoy dining out, without all the guilt!

It seemed that every time I wanted to treat myself, have a delicious meal, try a new restaurant, or have a romantic date night, I would end up over-indulging, feeling bloated, sluggish, and most of all, guilty the next day.

When this happens, we naturally jump into detox mode — Workout more, eat super clean or restrict calories and swear off restaurant invites.

Sometimes, even a "respectable" amount of time would go by... I would be consistent with my healthy habits, work out, and eat well; so I would ...

Don't want to workout? Read this!

Jun 16, 2019

Here are some of the motivating tips that I use on a daily basis to stay consistent with my workouts! I find that these can help anyone, but they're really helpful on the days you just don't want to workout...

A lot of us know the benefits of exercise and know that we should be doing it. We know we’ll feel better (Can you say #endorphins?!), feel more relaxed, and actually reach our weight loss goals. We also know working out will increase our metabolism, clear up our skin, help us get a better night of sleep, and on and on! So, if we know it’s so good for us, why is it SO hard to stay consistent with exercising?

1. Set yourself up for success!

The truth of the matter is, we are less apt to do the things we need to, or know we should be doing, if it is not convenient for us. On the days you don’t want to workout you need to streamline the process!

Some ways to streamline things are:

  • Schedule your workout - Make it like an appointment you can't miss! Having it...

Want to succeed? Be authentic!

Jun 15, 2019

Living life as our most authentic selves is something we all desire. I believe that deep down we know what’s best for ourselves; but sometimes we get a little lost...

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself, “If I stay on my current path, and keep doing exactly what I’m doing, will that make me happy in the longterm?”

“Am I happy right now?”

"Will I be happy in five years?" "What about twenty years?" "What about at the end of my life?"

If you answered “no” to any of those questions, it might be time for a change. Self reflection is the first step toward becoming your most authentic self.

Our habits determine our quality of life, so we need to examine them closely.

If you want a better quality of life, first take a look at your daily habits. Then take a look at how you react when you experience a setback or when you feel negative emotions.

Have you ever found yourself focusing on trivial things and letting...

Have you eaten your veggies?!

Jun 14, 2019

We hear all the time that vegetables are "essential for our health" and going “veggie-heavy” is the best choice...

But why?!

What are the benefits of vegetables? And if they are so great for us, how can we make eating them fun? What are the best ways to change it up and not get bored or stuck in a routine?

Below I’ll talk about the benefits of veggies, my tips for getting the most out of them, and how to keep your cooking fresh & fun!

Why Should We Veg Out?

 1. Vegetables tend to be low in fat and calories: If you need to avoid these in your diet, veggies are great to consume!

2. Veggies are a great source of essential nutrients: Consuming veggies will add dietary fiber, potassium, folate (folic acid), vitamin A, and vitamin C (just to name a few) to your diet. Consuming these nutrients through vegetables rather than through supplements is the safest and most natural way to do so.

3. The dietary fiber or...

The WORST and BEST alcoholic drinks to order!

Jun 13, 2019

You know that feeling when you've been working really hard on your fitness goals (and you start to feel amazing) but then you go to happy hour and have a drink (or two... or more than two...) and then you feel like you...

  1. Have taken a step back on your health journey?

  2. Have to "start over" on Monday?

  3. Have to workout longer and more intensely?

  4. Have to restrict your calories?

  5. Are more bloated the next day?

  6. Are more tired, irritable, or unproductive the next day?

  7. Generally feel gross and less like your "ideal self?"

Trust me y’all, I’ve been there! I’ve experienced the pressures and the feelings that follow alcoholic beverage intake... But I've found a way to both enjoy myself and maintain my health and fitness goals!

It’s important to remember that keeping everything in moderation will always benefit you. It'll help to prevent those negative feelings and experiences post-alcohol.

Here is my...

Did someone say vision boards?!

Jun 12, 2019

You might be asking yourself,  "How do I keep myself motivated over a long period of time?!"

The key is VISION!

You have to have a vision. What does achieving your goals look like? What does it feel like? What do you need to have, do, and accomplish to achieve them? Who do you need to talk to or meet?

There might be a lot of moving parts to your goals and dreams, so how do you keep that organized? For me, it’s a vision board!

When I make a vision board, I utilize a tip from one of my idols, Chalene Johnson, and I make a to-do list.

She has coined this as the “brain dump.”

I write down (Yes, pen to paper!) every part of what I’m trying to accomplish and EACH step that needs to be taken to get there. Even write down the small things, because chances are those details will get lost in the shuffle. But those small details can make all the difference...

If a vision board is all about vision, you need to be able to see ...
