Don't want to workout? Read this!

Here are some of the motivating tips that I use on a daily basis to stay consistent with my workouts! I find that these can help anyone, but they're really helpful on the days you just don't want to workout...

A lot of us know the benefits of exercise and know that we should be doing it. We know we’ll feel better (Can you say #endorphins?!), feel more relaxed, and actually reach our weight loss goals. We also know working out will increase our metabolism, clear up our skin, help us get a better night of sleep, and on and on! So, if we know it’s so good for us, why is it SO hard to stay consistent with exercising?

1. Set yourself up for success!

The truth of the matter is, we are less apt to do the things we need to, or know we should be doing, if it is not convenient for us. On the days you don’t want to workout you need to streamline the process!

Living life as our most authentic selves is something we all desire. I believe that deep down we know what’s best for ourselves; but sometimes we get a little lost...

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself, “If I stay on my current path, and keep doing exactly what I’m doing, will that make me happy in the longterm?”

“Am I happy right now?”

"Will I be happy in five years?" "What about twenty years?" "What about at the end of my life?"

If you answered “no” to any of those questions, it might be time for a change. Self reflection is the first step toward becoming your most authentic self.  

Our habits determine our quality of life, so we need to examine them closely.

If you want a better quality of life, first take a look at your daily habits. Then take a look at how you react when you experience a setback or when you feel negative emotions.

Have you eaten your veggies?!

We hear all the time that vegetables are "essential for our health" and going “veggie-heavy” is the best choice... 

But why?!

What are the benefits of vegetables? And if they are so great for us, how can we make eating them fun? What are the best ways to change it up and not get bored or stuck in a routine?

Below I’ll talk about the benefits of veggies, my tips for getting the most out of them, and how to keep your cooking fresh & fun! 

Why Should We Veg Out?

 1. Vegetables tend to be low in fat and calories: If you need to avoid these in your diet, veggies are great to consume! 
 
2. Veggies are a great source of essential nutrients: Consuming veggies will add dietary fiber, potassium, folate (folic acid), vitamin A, and vitamin C (just to name a few) to your diet. Consuming these nutrients through vegetables rather than through supplements is the safest and most natural way to do so.

You know that feeling when you've been working really hard on your fitness goals (and you start to feel amazing) but then you go to happy hour and have a drink (or two... or more than two...) and then you feel like you...

  1. Have taken a step back on your health journey?

  2. Have to "start over" on Monday?

Did someone say vision boards?!

You might be asking yourself,  "How do I keep myself motivated over a long period of time?!"

The key is VISION!

You have to have a vision. What does achieving your goals look like? What does it feel like? What do you need to have, do, and accomplish to achieve them? Who do you need to talk to or meet?

There might be a lot of moving parts to your goals and dreams, so how do you keep that organized? For me, it’s a vision board!

When I make a vision board, I utilize a tip from one of my idols, Chalene Johnson, and I make a to-do list.

She has coined this as the “brain dump.”

I write down (Yes, pen to paper!) every part of what I’m trying to accomplish and EACH step that needs to be taken to get there. Even write down the small things, because chances are those details will get lost in the shuffle. But those small details can make all the difference...
